almaju Never believed that I would feel the same wow-head-banging-listening-effect that I had in the early 70th with Black Sabbath again. Hammer Cool…. Let me now go back to the sweet spot of my loudspeakers.

LISTEN TO THIS BAND!!!! If you feel anything by listening to rock /metal, this will absolutely move you in all the best ways. Favorite track: Boneyard Blues.

Bryan This album is full of huge riffs held aloft with a smooth, searing lead guitar tone. But Little Hole Filled goes beyond the stoner-rock pre-requisites with a strong sense of melody that gives mood and nuance to the album. Recommended for fans of Torche and Psychlona.

barren earth trees are falling wasted lands under yellow sky rotting flies on septic flesh shades of grey all green is gone a wind is blowing the air burns red a mist of dust a storm of ashes a silence screaming no voice to raise a last breath taken no soul to hear and the ants still march on
2.
The unseen hand that wields the blade That severs bodies from theirs souls The ancient joints are worn by time In restless motion cuts the twines In Thousand miles of blackend waters In streams where once live dwelt The fingers combing through foul sludge No soul to find no life to end Deserted fields of once green meadows Where bedlam gave away to peace And throngs of creatures feared their god Now trails of dust blow through the breece The fist clenched tight, the dream dissolves Impaled by light and crushed by shade And drowned by silence ever rising The strife for footing was in vain And doubt creeps into thoughts and lingers Infests ideas then souls decay The boundless void inhales the warmth A mindless feast on easy prey Dragged away into darkness Pulled down into the deep
3.
Nothing moving a void unfilled An empty mass is not yet spilled The silence is deceptive still Waiting for a storm to build. If nothing moves, can time exist?1 No parts collide, stasis persists Stagnation stems against the tide The friction grows in space too wide And light filled the sky And life filled the world And all that is living Will fall back to the void

about

"I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor and surviving."

I don’t know why Colonel Walter E. Kurtz suddenly pops up in my mind. There’s something in his words and in the way he’s delivering them. A mad kings’ wisdom? He’s earned himself a degree in mayhem and he’s seen things, for sure. But has he heard anything like that?

"From start to finish you'll be treated to an extensive spread of genres and styles that will keep you engaged and stimulated. Most importantly the album rocks hard as hell. It’s something that you need to experience." [James Grunge in Cave Dweller Music]

And The Ants Still March On is not a walk in the park. It’s more like opening a furnace. Blasting from white noise to BIG noise in less than a wink. Drone to the bone. Speed is not essential here: Little Hole Filled allowed themselves almost 25 years to finally release their debut album. Kurtz would have loved that: operating at a snail’s pace while the world around him is falling to pieces.

So who’s coming to our rescue? A hot pot does, steaming of heavy riffed guitars, ecstatic noise and pounding drums. And all our favourite dark spices are in there. Albeit the recipe, concocted by singer/guitarist Phillipp Diesenreiter, who is also a sound engineer and, as Tenderboy, one of the best-known Austrian hip-hop artists, is special.

"Answers the question: what if a stoner band was influenced by The Doors and Bauhaus? Eclectic, strange, and melancholic, this album gives you time to breath and mourn." [Hayduke X on bandcamp]

The album's multilayered, snotty yet crystal clear sound makes And The Ants Still March On an adventurous delight. Like being on a boat ride on an unknown river with the occasional rapids, shallows and hungry river monsters graving for your attention while you hum along to the berserk-but-elegant tunes delivered by Little Hole Filled. A band that needs a bit of time. The time a snail, for example, needs to crawl along the edge of a razor, and survive.

---------------------

„I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor and surviving.“

Drone To The Bone!

Schneckentempo. Die Welt bröckelt. Giving Birth To A Planet zerrt minutenlang sein schweres Riff den Berg hinauf und nicht einmal das Gitarrensolo hat da noch Lust auf perlende Läufe. Ausgebremst vom Rollator auf dem Highway to Hell.

Und wieder einmal hat Metal völlig Recht! Time Is On Our Side.
